Will it cost me anything for my HCP and how much will I have to pay for my HCP package?

The cost of aged care services depends on your situation, including the type of services you need and your financial situation. 

The maximum basic fee is 17.5% of the single person rate of the basic Age Pension. 

Depending on your income, you may be asked by your service provider to pay an income-tested care fee. This is in addition to a basic fee. 

If you find out that you do need to pay an income-tested fee, there is a cap on what you can be asked to pay – both over a year and over your time in aged care.

Once these caps are reached, you cannot be asked to pay any more income-tested care fees.
